Data Entry and Presentation
Designed to integrate with numerous systems dabl Anticoagulant
will automatically upload patient information and blood results and present the
information in a very user-friendly format for both patient and medical team. View
and edit formats incorporate timesaving features, which are essential for busy clinics.
It is fast and efficient in producing results for medical teams whilst providing
a secure and easily traceable patient record.
Demographics and Quick Search Facility
dabl Anticoagulant provides the demographic details
of each patient. This is combined with a very quick method of locating a patient
on the system.
INR and Dosage
dabl Anticoagulant uses a colour plot and histogram
of the amount of anticoagulant prescribed against the test being used to monitor
treatment (INR, PTT) so that it will be evident at a glance as to how stable or
unstable a patient may be at any time. This also allows for the entire record of
the patient to be summarised for a quick review of progress since initiation of
anticoagulant treatment. Important events such as bleeding, bruising or binge drinking
are highlighted in a simple but very effective way.
Choice of Algorithms
dabl Anticoagulant allows clinics to choose
from a selection of algorithms to determine the parameters for dosing and patient
recall periods. All algorithms are based on published evidence.
Warning Features
In the event of the current result showing a reading above certain criteria, or
a significant increase on the previous reading the system will alert the user. When
the INR or PTT is so high as to constitute a danger of bleeding the system will
immediately give notice of this occurrence.
Letter Generating Facility
Another special feature, with considerable time saving implications, is an automatic
letter facility for generating letters to the patient, to family practitioners and
other sources. Letters contain a graphic presentation of the anticoagulant dosage
plotted against the INR or PTT, the dose of anticoagulant recommended based on the
latest test, the date of the next appointment and a list of drugs to be avoided
and other safety information required when on anticoagulants. The system allows
the letters to be sent by post, fax or e-mail to the patient and to the family doctor.
Holistic Management
As a percentage of patients on anticoagulant treatment are patients with cardiovascular disease, dabl Anticoagulant
can be used simultaneously with dabl Cardiovascular
or with any of the other dabl modules.
Management Reporting
A variety of reports are available to assist the efficient management of the clinic
and provide important clinical information.
